I like to break up the normal routine in a University Freshman English Class by doing a lesson on Social English. I've uploaded an example - what do you think?

The idea is for them to read the situation in small groups and think of the most appropriate thing to say for each situation. Group members then roleplay the situation with the phrases they've come up with. Often hilarious! After each performance, I give feedback on their choices.
