ELT Interviews - Can we interview you? |
|
ELT
Interviews is just getting started and we'd like to
interview members and other teachers around the world. Using a new
platform, Wetoku, we are going to create a library of short
interviews to help new teachers and help share our
knowledge. If you would like to be interviewed and
share your own knowledge (either about working in your part of the
world, or of your projects and interests), please
contact us. Art Williams, a veteran podcaster will be the
host.

Video of the Month |
|
Children Full of Life! This video was shared by member Chooch
Mangione and is highly recommended. 5 parts about an amazing grade
4 teacher in Japan. Other hot videos during the month were -
Coldplay's Warning

View our whole directory of hundreds of THE BEST VIDEOS. Don't
forget ourA/V

New and Recommended Resources |

The lessons in a
can continues to be updated (I'm 2/3s of the way!). Hundreds of
lessons for all levels. Use some
grammar and diamante poems in your
teaching! Whodunit
is a new copyright free ELT textbook. Korean teachers, I'll be
beginning to assembly
in one area- all the best resources for teaching using Korean
content.
I highly recommend checking out our library of ESL / EFL
links - the most extensive and up to date on the web (IMHO).
Don't forget our constantly fresh EFL
Classroom magazine. And of course, our Teacher's
Toolbox - a treasurechest.

English Central Teacher's Area |
|
English Central was #1 on many lists of
new online language learning sites. I'm glad that we are part of
their development and a teacher's discussion forum connected to EFL
Classroom will come shortly. In the meantime, see
our discussion for more info. or dive in and
start inviting your students today and using the tools to assess
them. Experiment on our own E.C.
teacher's channel. EC brings student practice to a new
level!

Ongoing Discussions and Highlighted Blogs! |
|
It has been a quiet month on EFL Classroom for discussions. Many
teachers on holidays! However, I'll recomend the following;
IN BLOGS - the #1
Series of Tips, continues to be popular. A
great teacher got lots of comments and really highlights a
wonderful teacher of young children. Also, Karenne has
a nice rundown of many amazing blog posts around
ELT. A must read! I also made a guest blog
appearance on Barb Sakamoto's Teaching Voices -
The Small Things Count

around EFL Classroom 2.0 for a long time. He's
a university professor building a great TESOL program on
the west coast of Mexico. He encourages his students to use

to highlight and show longer films and videos for teachers and
now, using a new technology developed by a couple of Stanford
students - Veetle, we can! Simply go to the
Teacher's TV page and download the
very small add on to play our player. Then sit back and enjoy
movies for and about teaching, including many rare documentaries.
Also, make a request! See what's playing right
