From Superheroes - on the "Sonic" card: "I'm shit and I know it..."

A little vulgar and would be difficult to explain if a parent were present.

Mark,

I changed that one...thanks! not just vulgar but a little culturally insensitive.

Some sets might have typos or something inappropriate so it is great if others report here and reference which set...

cheers,
David

David!  Thank you! So handy, I needed some vocabulary on Environment to share with the student who's preparing for IELTS at the moment. Actually I've got a question - who can edit the sets? Is there a password for eflclassroom members? Is it allowed to add new words to existing flashcards sets?

Marina,

You can edit with our generic id/pw - eflclassroom / eflclassroom

Also, if you do have your own account, make sets yourself and then add to our group by joining it as a member.   http://quizlet.com/group/59393/

Also, do a search and maybe find something appropriate? Then, take the set and edit it yourself - you can!  But our account you'll get the ability to use photos to contextualize. Now with the speech and games, really love quizlet.

David! Thank you! I got it. I also found out that there's the option "Export" for those who want to make their own Quizlet set from a ready-made one. But I'm going to contribute  to our community collection:) Maybe tomorrow:)

Marina,

Just saw your comment now, as I was doing some housecleaning! My apologizes.

I hope you've found a good use for Quizlet and these sets. I remember being on of the first on the site and so excited by the young kid who created it, his excitement. Now with audio too, it is super - I'm sure you agree.

Yes, export and make your own set. Edit, save and get what works for your own group. That's best. Even better (and I've heard some teachers have done this) - get students making flashcards for each unit. Everyone is helping everyone study/learn.

Hi David,

great work! Thank you!

To help my students learn vocabulary I've made a Digital Panel using Glogster http://themachinegoeson.edu.glogster.com/false-8413/ . There's a link to another glogster with e-flashcards created by the students themselves using Quizlet http://themachinegoeson.edu.glogster.com/false-1766/. I am now asking for permission to export and edit some of your sets to add to the panel. My students would appreciate it a lot!

Ciao!!!

Congratulations on a great site!  Just a minor detail or two... When I clicked on Beginner - Past tense, it took me to the Quizlet page, and in going down the list I see that for "study", the past should be corrected (not "stuedyed"), and "receive" is missing the second e in both the present and past tenses.  Not to be a nitpicker, just that I know you will want them right.  Thanks!

Mary,

Thanks for the compliment, I'm sometimes amazed at what I find here too!   The set is fixed and please don't hesitate to point out problems - that's how they get fixed.   You are also free to use our id/pw ( eflclassroom/eflclassroom and edit the sets or make your own in our Premium account there.....
