Current events are a great way to learn English and prompt discussion. (see my presentation).  Particularly for intermediate and advanced students. It depends what kind of video. Many you can download in our A/V player. Hit the arrow on each video - on the right.

Also, if it is a youtube video you can go to http://keepvid.com and put in the video url/address for example: http://youtube.com/Ax5p436dc . Then press download. It will download to your desktop so you can play it without being on the internet.
