Hey Wayne,

Nice to talk to you yesterday and good to know things worked out well...

Question - is your TEFL online course still going?

I just made a directory of online courses. In a week or so, a full country directory of site courses will come also. I put up your course info. Take a look and let me know how I can change it. http://eflclassroom.ning.com/page/online-1

Cheers,

David

If I recall correctly you were talking about an opportunity to do a TEFL program online during the SMOE orientation. I'm really interested in it. Please give me an relevant info you have about it. Thanks a lot.

Hey Wayne,

You sent yourself that last message! About the unvalidated microsoft software....it is simple. Go to our TV page and click the registry change link at the top of the page. It will change the registry and then the software will be validated. WMP 11 upload link there also......

Hey Wayne,

I hope this finds you fine and dandy and ready to enjoy the better weather....I"m busy but happy.....that's life.

I 've put up a "sponsor" box in the top right corner. To promote members. Do you have a .jpg of your logo to put up? I won't be charging for the next 4-6 months and it will always be just for those who are active members of the community, not something commercial. Every time the page loads, a new banner will be displayed....

Cheers, let me know.

A friend is looking for that Windows Media Player to download as his school will not allow an update of the Windows encoder because they are using non-licensed software for their school. hehehe go figure. Anyway if you could send me an email with the link to the file here on the site that would be great. Thanks and you can count on me for any help.

Hey Wayne,

Once again thanks for the help yesterday. Much appreciated and I'm sure the teachers benefited from your feedback.

I'm going to check out your tv channel and add here! That is a good idea!

Wayne,

Looking forward to the lecture and I guess I should start planning it! I'd love to do something as mind boggling as Lessig -- the newest video , just uploaded. What a lecture, tight but imaginative!

Unfortunately no news. Lois didn't show up at our opening ceremony and I left a message with Samantha her assistant.

I'm not frustrated but just a little indifferent now. I have tried what I can/could and really if they don't want to take the ball and run, there isn't much I can do. I say that honestly. But I also know Lois is legendary for "all of sudden" wanting to do something -- so typically Korean I guess...

On another note , have you ever thought as I mentioned once before, about making your course or helping with a TEFL course that is open source? Meaning, everything available freely online (no tutor of course) with tests and online feedback. Course content modified by public moderators (like myself and a few others I've been contacted about this....) and developed continuously.

The only thing people pay for is the certificate upon completion. Which is what most who take the course do. All others can do part or some of the course publicly.

I think you see what I mean but this could have great implications for professional development and I think you should think about this concept. You may have valid reasons not to but I am suggesting it. It would be the most powerful way to develop your course competitively and also make a difference.

Just an idea.

Hi James,

I believe there are many options available for people who are interested in receiving their training. The value and benefit of online instruction is in the convenience and seamless approach of the system used. Our KEI - TEFL system has proven to be quite useful for people who cannot afford the time away from the classroom while taking their training. We offer the onsite portion of the training as a way for students to gain the practical experience they will need in a face to face environment. The total course is a combination of online study as well as participation in the onsite weekend seminar. If you would like to see the set up of our program I can give you access to a live class so you can get the feel for it. Let me know if you want to take a look and you can find out more about the program at: www.koredinco.com if you want more information in the mean time.

Thanks

Wayne,

I'm here.... Sorry I didn't get back to you right away. I sent the proposal with a summary and my own thoughts cheerleading the project. I didn't copy you because I didn't think it appropriate but I asked them to inquire with you directly at the contacts listed.....

I'll see Lois on Tues. when she comes to open up a course for smoe personel. I'll have some info. then.

Yes, karafun is cool. I think it is a great idea and I've been beating the drum for a few years about it. Rob here, has done some super stuff, using multiple pictures etc...really good.

Cheers,

David

PS. I'll be having a potluck/bbq thing for friends on the 24th . If you guys are around, plan on coming. I'll send out a notice this weekend to everyone. Will mostly be my running friends and a few others....
