IN Praise of Slowness...

If there is one piece of valuable advice that could fit almost ALL teachers - it would be to "S L O W D O W N!"

One area of course is in terms of speaking speed. Teachers need to let students process language and really suck the communicative juice out of words. They need CI along with their O2! Comprehensible Input in the form of being able to follow the speaker and let the gears of their LAD (Language Acquisition Device) grind them bones… Continue

Continue

Now that the New Year’s Day hangovers are a thing of the past, it’s time to trade in the warm sofa for cold, hard desks as the spring semester approaches. As technology is developing so fast last year, Web 2.0, E-Learning, Mobile Learning and collaborative learning are changing the way we live, learn and teach. As a teacher in 21st century, how do you take the new technology to your classroom becomes a popular problem, especially for the non-technical teachers.…

it is an ordinary day but it seems unsual

Everyone has his day, even a dog.Maybe it is true but why i think that we live in a world that i mean nothing to this world?

Not everyone can become Churchill or Obama, neither everyone can become Hitler or some monster. We are nothing and life means nothing.

This morning you can get up, you can eat your breakfast. You can sing, dance and surfur on the internet to meet strangers even a programme robot to talk to you.But i am lonely/

If i die, who will cry for… Continue

The Top 5 Worst Habits of EFL Teachers in the Classroom

I just spent a long day watching over 30 demo lessons of aspiring English teachers. As I was evaluating, I kept thinking of a list I've had stashed away for writing up an article one rainy day.....the teaching skills that new teachers need to develop / enact from Day 1. These essential skills have been researched and form "good teaching" practice. You can get away without doing them but you'd have to be a master teacher. Even many experienced… Continue

Her voice, Palestinian,

The Origins of EFL Classroom 2.0

This week I was asked a few time about how EFL Classroom 2.0 got started. So I thought it might be something many new members would be interested to hear about. It would also give me an opportunity to "pound the pulpit" about what I find quite disturbing in our "people oriented" industry, TEFL.

In the beginning (couldn't resist :)), EFL Classroom was… Continue
