Teaching as a vocation

More and more, I see a clear line between two camps of teachers. Those that view teaching as a profession, a way to make a living, what happens Mon-Fri. and between classroom walls, 8 to 4 (or chose your time) and those that view teaching as a vocation, a way of life, a 24/7, always on, way of being.

Memory: An Experiment

I've always been fascinated by the role memory plays in language acquisition. It isn't a straight forward relationship (better memory = better fluency) however, looking at student "2nd language memory" does allow us teachers in a very crude way, to gather knowledge about student fluency.
