I was talking to someone today and they commented among other things that I should spend more time writing on my own blog than elsewhere! I'm still not sure about that and like flittering around the bloggersphere but I'm going to add a few more entries here in the coming weeks.

So instead of posting a comment to Larry Ferlazzo's blog, I'll cross post here. Larry's… Continue

International Fiscal Crisis

You know why I like living abroad? Because you can do off the wall stuff like this with foreign currency. I originally wanted to relate this to Tibet, but In just ran with it. I have to admit that I am rather amused with myself for this one.

Peace and… Continue

I'm going to post all the material I create here.

Riddle contest

Tested with: English Major students

Class size: 22-45 students (depending on the class)

Procedure:

#1. Separate the class in teams. (Do it yourself, otherwise you'll be wasting a lot of time if you let the students do it by themselves).

#2. Select an assistant who will help you determine who raises his or her hand first in answering the question.

#3. Explain the rules:

/////Sakura in Gyeongju\\\\\\

So last weekend I went to Gyeongju for a going away partry for Kimchi and Me. It was a complete zoo and I couldnt get a taxi. I am extremely grateful for that as I probably would have missed out on the display of cherry blossoms that I caught in the above video.

Have any of you ever seen Cherry Blossoms… Continue

Paintballing in Pohang

So last Sunday I went Paintballing with some other teachers in Pohang. We went about 40 minutes outside of Pohang to a site where we were right next to the ocean and firmly so far out of the beaten path that our $25 taxi had a hard time finding the place. It was an absolute blast, but the fact that only head shots counted changed the game radically. At the end we dueled wild west style and the losers had to let us use thier heads as target practice.

Korean President Visits Yanghak Middle School

So the most peculiar thing happened today. The congressional elections are on April 9th so people have been campaigning frequently and loudly around town.

The new president was born about 20 minutes away from where I live and to my surprize he visited Yanghak today. It was bizzare. Our usually quiet school was in utter chaos with reporters, security, and local dignitaries. I was even interviewed by the MBC network about my opinions on English Language reform that the president wants… Continue
