About

SafeShare.TV - a perfect Youtube helper

Safeshare.TV is a wonderful tool for teachers.

Safeshare.TV allows you to hide the youtube "junk" that is on the page surrounding the video. The ads, the other thumbnails, comments, banners etc.... This can be really distracting to students and using Safeshare.TV makes life easier.

Here's an example of a regular youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AWYIit1uNk

Now click here and see what happens when you redirect through SafeShare.TV
-- http://www.safeshare.tv/v/6AWYIit1uNk

It gets even better! The video is too long to show in class or you just want to show one part? No problem, SafeShare.TV allows you to easily crop (chop) the video so you can just show students the part you want.

Don't forget - best bet is to download a hardcopy for use in the classroom. I recommend http://keepvid.com or use our A/V player and download the video by clicking the arrow on the right.

IF safeshare is not blocked by school systems (it looks like it shouldn't be) then this is a great tool for US teachers, too.

There is a firefox add-on that works great for downloading... Download Helper works on youtube and many other sites. I haven't used keepvid since I installed it.
