I've been giving more and more workshops on using Technology and Language Teaching.
Here's a presentation with lots of direct links to applications, tools, games, resources that I think English teachers will find useful in their "wired" classroom.

I also recommend going HERE for more tutorials and information. Our Professional Development page also has lots of great tutorials and info. Let me know what tool you use the most and why!

I adore the way you have embedded links... a presentation with lasting value! It seems like just about everything an EFL teacher would need to explore is tucked into this tidy little... powerpoint? Cool, David, a keeper!

BTW, how did you create the stages in page 10? I'll show my age (ahem, my experience) and say, neat!

Everyone is raving about this voicethreads website and I don't see what's so good about it. Really it looks like a bunch of pople just doodling on a picture and saying rather uninteresting things.

The websites mentioned here that I like are dvolver, 20 questions, oddcast and some of the quiz sites.

Tommy, I taught a very basic, online beginner EFL class using voicethreads as the backbone. The class is no longer active, but I archived it here, English for Friendship & Fun. Maybe you could take a look and see what you think.

Ellen,

Yes, packed with click the picture and go see info! I didn't spend much time during the workshops explaining the sites and just concentrated on other stuff and let teachers use the ppt at their leisure...

Tommy - one thing I've found with technology or teaching methods and approaches - we all have our own preferences depending on exp. / background / culture / teaching style / personality / our needs and even our mood at the time we first encounter! However, voicethread is a keeper, have you seen our EFL Classroom 2.0 voicethreads? Lots of great examples - try this one for beginners and thousands of students from around the world have benefited from the voicethreads I put up
