We now have a nice video player of ALL the School House Rock videos....handy for many teachers and just plain fun to watch.....

I made a worksheet to go along with this activity.

It really got the students listening and there was quite a bit of cooperation.
I love the title Brendan!

And yes, that is one of my fav. lessons. Students, especially middle school students, really get into this. There is a natural compulsion to produce language...... I always say, "My English is better than yours". and the students will always reply, "So what! My ..... is better than yours!".

One resource that needs to be highlighted today is What the Wordle. I really think it is a cool idea and students love the design/color. Just pause on the screen and let students think. Then request an answer. PPTS for many HERE.

We have a new twitter feed - a whole page of the best tweeters in EFL / ESL / ELT . Just hit the twitter heart on the main page (or the button). Full of great links and thoughts from these mentor teachers.Updated to the minute - it looks like this...

If you haven't visited yet - do so! The Teacher's Toolbox has something for everyone (even non teachers). All kinds of items that instantly can empower teachers.
Mr. Bean is a great way to make a lesson. Watch and Download here. Full of vocabulary or get one student to describe what is happening, while the other , back to the screen listens.... Great resource. Get additional ideas/resources here!

Great thread.

Vimeo is a video hosting site. I've used several videos in university classes as discussion prompts and vocabulary builders.

This link is for a 3 minute video called Words. It shows how nine simple words can have many different meanings. Great for teaching idioms and phrasal verbs.

I made a worksheet for this video and answer sheet; I found 63 expressions from 9 root words.

Get the video link and worksheet at
