Yes, it is true. No matter the economic depression, Santa still will come - so you better watch out! Your students will be wanting to be singing and making crafts and sharing the joy of this time of year.... First place to go is right here on EFL Classroom 2.0 -- all great ideas, instant lessons for your classrooms!
Then see our Christmas page with all the carols and karaoke for effective Christmas learning!

Further, see our A/V player's Merry Christmas Folder for lots of Christmas videos. All the best from the internet universe. Mr. Bean's Christmas too! The Grinch! The Gift of the Magi and many more classics....

See this previous discussion for many more ideas. (I like the "how to make a paper snowflake" video!).
For resources - see our X-mas folder Lots of ppts for singing carols too! If you want to sing more - get the Karafun karaoke player and play these karafun karaoke songs! . Our esnips folder also has many resources. Most of all, give us a big present by sharing here and adding your own ideas on how to have some great Christmas lessons!

Here's something to get you into the spirit.....

I forgot abou some other resources hidden away on our network. Here's one for the moment. A Fling the Teacher for Christmas. The generator is available on our GAMES page - click Fling the TEACHER and download/run. Takes minutes to make your own game to test students!

here's a new karaoke i jsut made. a christmas classic: frosty the snow man. i'm working on rudolph the red-nosed reindeer so i'll post that once i'm finished

Karaoke's are much welcome! We need more traditional stuff!

In our Christmas folder, mentioned above, you can also get many traditional ppts with carols. I like this one..... Also some great Jeopardy games I made for X-mas.

I've also made a voicethread of Christmas Carols. I'll be adding more classics each day. A great way to share and learn. Just find a song and sing! Or listen and learn! Click the Song title to be taken to a video version with the music.

Please see our newly updated Christmas page here on EFL Classroom! A world of Christmas stuff there!
Another great game for practicing X-mas vocab is Top 5. Here it is -- easy to play and with the Top 5 worksheet for each student (but also count points as a group/team!).

Further, do you need X-mas songs? Click the link on the main page and get the X-mas player! You can download any of these songs for your use by clicking the arrow to the right of the song name....all the classics! [some problems playing in Firefox, I'm trying to resolve this and waiting an answer from Wimpy, the player's creator]

Also, here is a fine ppt shared by one of our members about the U.S.A. and X-mas.

Merry Christmas!
We have quite a few listening activities for holidays and Christmas on our Listening Page! Here is an example!

Here is a link to a website I just stumbled upon. http://www.momsbreak.com/printable/free_christmas_printables/Bell_P...
It has a lot of printable crafts which should come in handy for teaching elementary kids and there is even down loadable for writing letters to Santa.

Merry Christmas,

P.S. Here is a link for the John Denver and the Muppet's twelve days of Christmas carol. My fifth graders really get a kick out of watching this.
Thanks for all the xmas stuff, ddeubel.

I would love to show my students "Charlie Brown's Christmas" but Im having trouble finding it with English subtitles, let alone Korean subs.

Anyone know where I might be able to find them?
okay okay it's in french :), but last year we did a great job about Christmas. Try here and specially ma favourite Christmas song sung by my students with me and my electro-acoustic guitar in the background :). Who will translate in english ???

Trouvez plus de vidéos comme celle-ci sur Hors les Murs - Beyond The Walls

the original singer Jacques Dutronc:

Hi JazzPilot! I couldn't find a captioned version either, but I thought I'd upload the video for those away from home who might be nostalgic for their favorite Xmas special : ) Hint: If it runs choppy, let it load a little before you try to play it. It is almost 100mb and 30 fps. If it's a problem to watch, just let me know and I'd be happy to make a copy at 15 fps... I might do that anyway, tomorrow or so :D

Hi again, dear David, i suggest you in Tac.tv this video "Christmas Presents" ... I love it :)

That is genius! Wow! I love tac.tv and I'm going to look into it more. That video was hilarious and so kinda real .....
Also, thanks for the Jacque Dutronc song.... he's a classic. Him and Johnnie Holiday at Christmas, keep things alive.

Merry Christmas,
