Here is a good book describing how to use visuals in the classroom.

Also go to this discussion for clip art. And HERE for picture sets.

A few nice books with pictures that can be used for writing or other things...
Some vocab for playing pictionary. Print out the cards and go...

Also, Action pictures are great for speaking about a scene or for writing.
Does anyone know where to get some good pictures of many people doing a lot of different actions at once? I'm teaching passives and progressives and I'm looking for 'busy scene' kind of pictures, but they're hard to find via google. Thanks.

The nice CC  image search engine is HERE.  That might help but I'm not too hopeful. I'll have to do a write up on that site, simple image search engine.

Have you looked at Tarheel Reader? You can download ppts there and scoop images.

I've used the pictures in the back of Jill Hadfield's "Communication Games" I use these for assessment purposes. Download this - I think the pictures are in there. Or search in our Media fire resources.

In writing, there is a writing with pictures book - that might help...got to run or I'd search for it....

I'd try searching for crowds people on flickr. You'll get beach scenes, shopping scenes... could also add an action to the search, such as cooking, walking? I'm not sure : ), but you'll get some interesting pics.

IMAGR appears to be kaput.
Thanks to you both. 'crowds' is a great idea I will look for that.
