A little powerpoint I made for a discussion of plastic/cosmetic surgery. Just putting it out there if anyone wants to use it. Some of the photos are good.

That was interesting. I'm curious what the kids had to say about it. I get distressed when there is such pressure to conform to a certain standard of attractiveness simply to feel acceptable, but that's life in our times. Just for balance, it might be good to show the proportion of botched/ misguided plastic surgery vs the more attractive outcomes... and to have a thoughtful discussion of what aspiring to this level of conformity in our appearance means to our spiritual and emotional selves.

Certainly a relevant topic for lively discussion, Tommy.
The students had a range of different opinions. Some were against cosmetic surgery saying it was "dangerous" and they prefered the natural look. Others had a more favourable opinion and they thought it could be a good idea to improve people's appearance.

I think the first picture in the ppt is an example of "boched/misguided plastic surgery". I don't think many people would say Micheal Jackson's surgery went particularly well.
