As someone trained in Anthropology and having had the opportunity to teach the relationship between culture and language in the classroom -- I really have a few great items to "point towards". 

I find culture such an important point/understanding for the language teacher. One of the strong points of MFL teachers is their focus on the culture of the second language. In EFL we must stress this more and more....  

Here are many of the books/articles that I highly recommend. Also, see our culture resources by searching "culture" in our SEARCH. Lots there!
