This is a super activity. Just play the sounds and pause. Ask the students to "Guess The Sound". The ppt has all the classic vocabulary. With the video, students write down the numbers and guess the sounds. Review after.
Some are simple, others not so easy. See all the videos we have for playing this game HERE.
Here is another version but just for animal sounds. Loads of fun.
Use the video and / or Powerpoint. Powerpoint also asks if the animal is wild or tame.
A personal note. I've recently been dealing with tinnitus - nonstop hissing in my ears/brain. I'm busy trying to find ways to manage this condition - not easy! But along the way I discovered a great app that teachers can use in class - White Noise.
White Noise features sounds of normal things - rain, vacuum cleaner running, cafe conversation, airport noise, traffic etc ... 1,000s of sounds that you can also download so you don't need to be hooked up to wifi.
It would make an excellent lesson. Play the sounds and have students guess where/what. you'll just need a good set of bluetooth speakers to hook up to your phone or if using the web, hook up to your computer. You'll really be surprised by the selection of sounds - can be a real challenge for students to decide/guess!
Download the app in Android or iOS and try out this simple but cool lesson idea.
