See my full blog posts about "Synaptics" and using "It's not a box". Part 1 - Part 2  Also recommend this game - It's not like the others.

Here is a ppt and video to use with the book "It's not a stick"  Delightful concept.  Just bring some sticks to class and get the students talking, see what they come up with!

Another great way to do this is use "It's not a Box" - another delightful book from the same author. Challenge your students - in groups give them a box and see what ideas they come up with!

Also, this video is so cute!  Wonderful. Play and pause and ask students - "It's not a box. What is it?"

This blog post has many more ideas for teaching using this concept!
