About

Here, I'll store all the curriculum for teaching these amazing short videos by the NFB. See our page here on EFL Classroom 2.0 (for the moment best in Firefox, IE7 takes time loading????).

This first one is called "George and Rosemary". It won an academy award for best animated short and read the blurb about it below.

First, let the students watch and ask them to write down 5 verbs/actions that are important to the story. Then, use the ppts to retell the story. First let the students try by using the one with only pictures. Then, read together.

George and Rosemary was the inspiration for the "Mr. Morton" video. Play the song and practice the past tense!

George and Rosemary is an animated romantic comedy about two golden agers who prove that passion is not exclusively for the young. With humour and empathy, it tells of George Edgecombe's passion for the lady across the street, and what happens when he decides to stop daydreaming and finally meet Rosemary Harris, the object of his affections.

This will help for your lesson on George and Rosemary, great for Junior High School Students. Be sure to go over the target language and have students circle words they do not know!

The Big Snit is another Academy award winner and all time favorite. Students will love it and can retell the story of these two "love birds" who carry on oblivious of the war happening around them... Use the ppts to elicit language, retell and to print as flashcards for storybook making or retelling/organizing. [File - Print Preview - slides / page - Print]
