hi teachers!

I'm looking for phonics based materials for teaching adult beginner ESL students. Does anyone know of some good basic materials such as matching card games for learning spelling patterns.

Judith,

You might try progressive phonics - http://www.progressivephonics.com/phonics-books/beginner-phonics-books  But I hear you.  Almost all phonics materials are created for children and childish.  But I do think you can find lettered flashcards online where students use beginning, middle and ending spellings to create and sound words.

I'll post back here if I find some. But also get your students using the Gif Phonics books or quizlet sets for phonics or the alphabet.
