The 3 Rs - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle are a great topic for a lesson. Get students brainstorming things, vocabulary for things we can put in these 3 categories. 

Here are some worksheets and a presentation on the topic.

The Story of Stuff is a fascinating video and program. Check out their website for loads of resources for teachers. 

Pollution is a huge problem in the world, plastics, litter, garbage, air, water - you name it. 

These worksheets will help students understand the topic and explore it in detail.  The "What Can I Change" worksheet will challenge students to think about what they can do to make a better world.

Humans have certain basic needs to survive in this world. All organisms do.  Students need to be able to distinguish between needs and wants. 

Here is a presentation challenging students to see the difference between wants and needs. Includes a worksheet where students prioritize 5 things to take to survive on a deserted island.

This is a wonderful subtitled video from Buzzfeed. About why we need to stop recycling so much and REDUCE. 

Simply ask students to listen and write down all the reasons why we should recycle less. Discuss. 

Here is a nice video lesson related to "Noise Pollution".  Video with transcript, questions and discussion questions. Use in any order you wish. Read/answer. Then watch the video, discuss. 

Also use the brainstroming and ranking sheet to get students naming forms of noise pollution and ranking them from worst to least.  Download for offline viewing.
