This is an interesting topic for students. Every year in October - the Nobels start to be awarded.
Students can research a past winner and present to the class using the student friendly template attached.
Also - read this book on Gif Lingua explaining the prize. Show in class on a screen.
This video also is a good summary of the award and its history.
This is an excellent activity to test students' ability to take notes and previous knowledge about the Nobel Prize.
1. Students try to fill in the handout prior to watching the video.
2. Students turn over their paper and watch the video and take notes.
3. Students use their notes to complete the worksheet answers.
4. Take up the answers with students. maybe then get Ss to research a laureate.
This is another nice Youtube video about the Nobel Prize and could be used for fact checking and note taking.
