About

One of the best stories for the English language classroom!  Get all the resources you'll ever need to teach this wonderful fairy tale.

The Paperbag Princess is a story is a classic and though an authentic material - is also perfect for English language learners. It has emotion, strong context and repetition which all help students understand the story and learn at the same time.

We have the whole story in video and also see the storybook presentation for reading. It also comes with a cool powerpoint for retelling and a nice sequencing activity for post reading and understanding.

This probably would also be a great story to make into a play adaptation for any English camp!

1. Estory online reader version  + Quiz

2. mp3 of the reading

3. Paper Bag princess lesson plan.doc

4. Paperbag Princess Unit Plan.doc

5. Story Frame Template.doc

6. Match the sentences game

This book is now on Gif Lingua Books.

Students can read and study with flashcards.

I love this book! Have slowly been creating ELL resources to go with it, but these will help even more. Our 5th grade mainstream English kids do a unit on fairy tales and this book is perfect to use with beginner ELLS. Thank you!
