Students and almost everyone loves this topic - strange animals!

This lesson is all about strange animals.

1. Learn about strange animals

2. Students then make their own "weird" animal - a Wingdingdilly from Bill Peet's famous book.

Optionally, you can read the famous book together. Or watch this cool biography video about his life.

Also watch some videos of strange animals! Want a similar lesson? Try our Animal Face-Off.  Or read the Gif Lingua book - Strange Animals.

Students will enjoy going online and making their own Wingdingdilly!

Here are a few reading resources about strange / weird animals.

Use by cutting up and giving a student info. about one animal. After they prepare, get them to present their animal in a small group. Finally repeat as a full class so students all hear about these amazing animals.
