About

At the end of a year, it's a great December lesson to have students research a famous person who died and write their obituary.

You can use this very simple obituary organizer attached. Students use it to research, take notes, present to the class. After, they can write out the whole obituary.

Additionally can look at some real obituaries like in the powerpoint attached - to model the necessary things that need to be covered.

Another great extension is for students to imagine themselves many years in the future, writing their own obituary. What will they write?

Review the famous deaths from 2017 HERE.
