I recently wrote 2 guest posts on Teaching Village - a wonderful blog run by Barbara Sakamoto (she's a member), a teacher in Japan and co-author of "Let's Go". Find a nice interview with her in our audio player. I really urge you to check out Teaching Village and felt compelled to participate… Continue

Suggestions - The Tao of Teaching "journal"

Posted on June 20, 2010 at 2:00am 1 Comment

Over the last year, I've compiled this ebook - The Tao of Teaching. It sprung up through a forum conversation and just grew and grew.

Presently, I'm editing it and will make it into a reflective journal, using the passages as a prompt, along with a nice quote about learning/teaching/education for reflective writing. A journal professors/teachers can use with pre or inservice teachers in training.

Do you have any suggestions for this? I've long been a great advocate of… Continue

Weird David- when I looked for the My Pages from the link to pages on the lessons in a can page, I got nothing... even when I looked under All Pages, it didn't show up. After I wrote my last comment, I thought that I might have put a link to the world connections chart on EFL in my Libary in a Box ning, and checked... yes, I had put a link there, and the chart came right up. From there I could click on My Pages and see the others I had created (turns out to be 5)... here's the link:

Well, I don't get it, but I'm glad it's not lost forever : )

Welcome, Admin! ; )

Again, I see, now- if I type more than one letter, the tags for that combination show in the drop down list, in alphabetical order. I was just typing the first letter, and seeing what would happen. It looks like this:

I would enjoy seeing all the possible tags that begin with that letter, and the list would be quicker to scan for a specific term (for example, if I type in an "s", I can quickly see if there a tag for "science" or "solar_system" or "sun") if it came up in alphabetical order... and also I might get more ideas for browsing from reading the list of tags.

Not a big deal : ) Though personally, I might use that function as much as the specific search itself.... hmm, I wonder what's under the letter "b"... This kind of mind set sometimes produces the most interesting searches, but it's not very efficient!

David, it seems as though My Pages have disappeared... I only remember creating two, the world connections chart and a how-to page for a specific member (can't recall her name at the moment, but she was a bit shy and wanted to learn some basic web posting stuff, creating a page for us was an easy way to share that still seemed semi-private-- she lost interest fairly quickly).

Is the world connections chart gone? If so, maybe it had run its course... I don't think I have a copy anywhere else : )

Anyway, great job with the search, I like it a lot!

L8R,

Ellen
