You know, as a teacher, I'm often bouyed most by the great moments between me and my students, by the compliments from supervisors, by the feeling of self-satisfaction at completing a lesson as planned, and by the 100% marks my students sometimes achieve.

However, when I pause to reflect, I realise that there's MUCH more to teaching and learning than success, regardless of how alluring and intoxicating it seems. When I'm truly honest with myself as a learner and a teacher, I have…

Teach A Video Course Online

I wear many teaching hats. Besides my courses at the university teaching education & schooling and tending to EFL Classroom 2.0 and my own online school, most of my waking hours are spent working with video for language teaching through EnglishCentral. I'm keen and bullish on this approach to…

My Book Now on Amazon

I'm glad to advise that my book "Principled Possibilities - Ideas for Teaching" which I posted about recently, is now also available on Amazon.

I now have both a paperback edition and a Kindle edition for purchase and download, which should help to bring it to a wider audience.

In addition, I have created an author page (image below) which provides a bio and links to social networks. The page can be found at …

Many people advocate this method or that technique or some book or other. They all can be effective in teaching languages BUT will it enable learners to learn what you need to AND to keep learning once they have put that book down or finished the course?

Without improving their language…

Forgetting what could make me a future Anglicist would be to be mistaken me. The site EFL CLASSROOM returns validly the diverse elements and the tools for a best learning in English. That is why, at no moment I did not hesitate to master this so interesting tongue.  Very soon, will be born in my district a CLUB OF ENGLISH LEARNERS : it will include all those who will have in heart this determination to win and know how to speak English as their mother tongue. See you then for beautiful…

Are We Becoming a Thoughtless and Thankless Lot?

Are we becoming a thoughtless & thankless lot?

It's almost as if people are expected to share with no acknowledgement, let alone reward.

While some no doubt are happy to do so anyway, in other cases it actually STIFLES conversations & sharing and could lead to resentments.

Is saying "thanks" a thing of the…
