About

Globalization101 offers information and interdisciplinary activities based on the complexities of globalization. Their goal is to get students to think about the controversies surrounding globalization and to promote an understanding of the trade-offs and dilemmas facing policy-makers.

On the teacher’s page, they offer a variety of lesson plans that could be adapted for use with language learners. One that caught my eye is Intellectual Property: Combating Piracy in China, which can be found at the bottom of the trade page. I think the vocabulary words and opening activity would work well in an English class. If you like any of the other lesson plans, let us know in the comments!

Dave,

Yeah, I think those activities are really usable....modifiable too. I know many teachers might look at them and think "too much work" but the benefits to students - for them to critically think, are tremendous.

You might look at www.pangeaday.org I participated in a thread about this and the power of images awhile back on classroom 2.0 Cool and interesting concept about videos from around the world being shown in 2008 on Pangea day.
