About

I had a wonderful time last weekend playing with dogs. Nothing better than romping and running with happy go lucky dogs!  Then, phoned  my mother and we got to talking about all the dogs that have passed through our lives, each with a story.  A day going down memory lane.

Then as coincidences will be, a teacher asked me about lessons related to dogs.  My first thought was, "What? Dogs? I don't think so."  But then I caught myself, knowing that there is so much I've done and posted about - there is probably something related.

Boy O boy - lots about dogs.  So here for the sake of "going to the dogs" are my the lesson materials I've made or recommend related to all things "dog".

1.  Dog cams.  We used to have an dog cam on the main page of this community! Always busy as we watched Shiba with her pups.  Great idea to stream the cam in class and talk with students in English about dogs. Many dog cams on the web.

2. Love that dog - the book.  A great read and students will enjoy this audio version.

3. He's a good dog. Classic Fred J. Eaglesmith song with lyrics.  Check out all the other "dog" related videos. Lots of gems.

4. Dog Tricks.  This is cool and like the classic and now retired, Subservient chicken, make the dog do whatever you command. A fun way for students to use English.

5. Dog Language. This post by an EFL 2.0 member has lots of dog related language to plan a lesson around.

Ok, that's it for now.  What about you? Got any dog resources to share with fellow teachers?

Here is my fav. dog comic - all language teachers will definitely relate!
