About

I have been a busy bee as of late. I have had to put in a lot of overtime to make up for the exchange rate. Fortunately these extra-cirricular classes have allowed me to get the students into a computer lab. The result is a Ning site that I prepared for my students call Kidz With Cake.

So far the experience has allowed me to take a closer look at ning and I am getting results. The students take to it very naturally as they are already doing the same thing every day. I hope to arrange to invite another class from America or some other country later this spring. Check it out and tell me what you think.

In other news my contract expires in August and the time to think about renewel is here. I had my feelers out on a couple of other jobs that would have given me an improvement in pay and living space, but things seem to be non-starters. Also Koreans never think ahead for hiring, so positions opening up in Sept will probably not be posted until August.

I will stay in Korea for one more year, but I would certainly prefer a position that was more professionally satisfying, better paying, and looks good on a resume.

Justino,

Keep making a difference! If I can help with any knowledge, advice regarding Ning - just ask. I'll be checking it out! -- despite what some might think, I'm really below the radar screen and always scoping EVERYTHING out. Knowledge comes from exposure as much as "that right thing". I 'm a big believer in the sponge theory of learning (which is essentially how kids learn language or kids learn so much, so well -- then we stop doing it , to our chagrin).

Keep on being you.
