I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings or beliefs, the content of the video may not be appropriate for some of you. If somebody complaints I will delete ir right away. Or better still, David, if you think it is improper please send me a mail or delete yourself. Thank you. I can get really emotional with music and act too impulsively.

Rosa, it just sounds and looks French to me! Are you worried about that briefest of breast shots?

I guess some cultures will be offended. Of course, some people are offended by seeing a woman's hair, elbow, knee, smile, laugh, the way she eats an apple, too.

Have you read, Reading Lolita in Tehran?

An excerpt:

The chief film censor in Iran, up until 1994, was blind. Well, nearly blind. Before that, he was the censor for theater. One of my playwright friends once described how he would sit in the theater wearing thick glasses that seemed to hide more than they revealed. An assistant who sat by him would explain the action onstage, and he would dictate the parts that needed to be cut.

Of course, I can't understand the words. Doesn't look like hate-filled speech, though. About the virtues of cotton??

Yes, Ellen said it very well. Everything is allowed, it is the spirit that counts (and endures). Keep finding yourself lost in music! We can both find and be lost...that's as it should be.

Ellen, I love that quote and though I carried her book around and have read countless pages, never sat down and finished the whole thing. Just one of those books that got away from me. But love it nonetheless.... speaks volumes given the present climate in Iran also.

I'm so glad you have read it, David. I skimmed some of it (I confess, skimming some of the literary references that I haven't read- I wanted to get to what happened in the story!), but I don't think that made the book less poignant to me. Though I am intending to go back and actually read those passages..and the works they reference... as soon as I find the book :D

OMG! I want a bottom toolbar too! How can I install one in my blogs? I've seen all the best bloggers have one. Yep, it is the Green-eyed Monster speaking. I want one. I can't spend much time with the blogging trends but is it wrong to be trendy? What's wrong about it? Absolutely nothing at all (I know the answers too). Congratulations on the toolbar David!

Well, changing the subject I must confess that I have never read nor heard of that book Ellen recommended. I'll google around and see. Nevertheless, I won't be able to read any book until next August. I have a terrible and longish public examinatation which I will certainly fail but in any case I have to try not to give up studying. I should have started revising long ago, different projects and commitments prevented my doing so. I expect to be less busy and more relaxed next school year since those *¿*¿ exams are held every two years.
Thank you Ellen and David, you're both so nice and kind and smart and....

Best regards.

People don't fail! Exams fail! I tell my students this always. Most don't get it but I believe there is a very important message in those 5 words....

Get the toolbar at However, if you don't have a lot of content, it might just have the "cool" factor only :) I think it works for us because of all the content we have to explore... If you have any problems setting it up, let me know... cheers,
