Nicer Youtube: Nicertube

One of the nice things about the videos here on EFL Classroom - both in our main directory or on our Video + pages, is that there isn't advertising or a lot of distractions. We also have a handyYoutube Search player that helps too. EnglishCentral, a site I'm also building works so well for videos that purely focus on learning and not being distracted.

Youtube is full of distractions, ads and inappropriate content that at times can get a teacher into trouble or keep students viewing what's on the side and not on the screen. Not to mention many times, streaming problems (using the API which is used in the above links, is a lot more reliable than a youtube page).

Nicertube is a nice, handy option. Teachers can use it and present a youtube video in class with few distractions. Here are the 4 steps. I'll use as an example the iconic - Elephant Song video.

1. Go to Nicertube  and enter the URL of a youtube video

2. Choose a background for the video. Many to choose from.

3.  Get the link for your "nicer" video

4. Play the video without all the distractions!
