About

Old Spice Commercials--Learn English and something* about hygiene

This is a 25MB program that I made about some recent commercials that have been airing in the states.
I think many of you will appreciate this program because it'll give you the opportunity to address the issue of using deodorant, especially with Summer 2010 right around the corner, and do it in a humorous way.

Specifics:
There are five videos of which all can have captions turned on or off.
There is a memory monitor, because YOUR STUDENTS WILL WANT TO WATCH THEM MORE THAN ONCE.
The videos are all either 15 or 30 seconds in length.
That's all. I didn't create a lesson. If you do please post it I'll be glad to use it. Hey...I did the hard work. :)

Here are some pictures:

Oh if any of yous programmer types wants to see the source FLA just lets me know and I'll up it for yas. (Yeah, I don't know where that came from.)

Elias,

They are super cool. I like the subtitle option - really helpful. And powerful images.

I'm still trying to figure out a good suggestion on how to use them in a lesson and to practice a specific skill or language function. I'll get back to you! Have you seen the funniest and best ever video/commercial about body odor? The Chocolate Man. I've used it over and over in classes. Just pause and students ask and answer "where is the Chocolate Man?".....

David,
Yeah I saw the Chocolate Man videos. Kind of hard to use with 6th graders though because of the sexual references. It's a great commercial though. :)
Tim and Eric from "Tim and Eric awesome show great job" produced all the videos, except The Man.

True! Even with adults, I have to be careful with it, just depends on the class....

I am a dunce! I thought these were REAL and not spoofs. Just because nowadays so many commercials are spoofs, hard to tell the difference, especially if a dunce.

Good stuff, sir Elias. Nice work on the program and the addition of subtitles. Got some serious laughs out of those, may use it sometimes in my afterschool activity class if i can find a way to lesson around it.
