I think I've got it no ads now... let me know if you see any!

Wonderful surprise this morning! So much happening. Sunshine, Korea at the moment winning Iran in the Asian cup and now a puppy cam and no ads! If you got it solved, I'll link to a page for full screen access...

We got to come up some kind of activities and lessons for this - so teachers can have an idea how to "deliver" or "use" this. It is wonderful but we just got to dress it up. I'm going to think on it...

There are so many good books to work from...

Dogzilla by Dav Pilkey

My Puppy is Born by Joanna Cole

Puppies, Dogs and Blue Northers by Gary Paulsen (one of my favorite books, ever... link goes to a good sized excerpt at google books... Shanie loved having me read the first chapter of this book to her on skype... she said, "I want to read out loud just like that!" I was planning to record the first two chapters, just didn't get to it.

I could scan Dogzilla and My Puppy is Born and upload them here... both fun resources to have.

The ads should be gone now, David. I found another embed code that was like last year's... I simply cut out the "brand" variable, and bumped up the size a bit. Easy!

I'll keep lesson plan ideas in the back of my mind. I know on my website the hummingbird page as been very popular... that would be a good cam too, because hummingbirds nest a lot.

Ellen, that bird is beauuuuuutiful. OMG. Just what I need today when it is -25 and with windchill -45!

What ever happened to the thread of Dog resources - got to dig that one up! It had some really nice educational stuff and ideas. And yes, now I do have some time so will have to give that puppy is born book a gander - I remember your recommend.

Good hack Ellen - don't let anyone tell you , you aren't a hacker! Wear it like a badge and you are helping. These sites don't realize that education/educators shouldn't have to have this commercialism in our face. I have n't visited in a long time but did so just recently - Teacher's tube. So funny how something preporting to be for educators is so full of ads, ads and marketing everywhere. LOL.

No David, the book for you is Puppies, Dogs and Blue Northers. You'll love it. If you can't find your copy (a long time ago I think you ordered it) read the excerpt on google... I think it has the first two chapters, which is enough to make you fall in love : )

Gotta go be a good student now. I'll look up the dog resources (it was a group) later, see what we've got. If you click on my hummingbird page on PFS, it's got some cute resources about these little wonders. Not organized into a lesson plan, just grab & go : ) There's lots more possibilities... hummingbirds are special in NW Native American cultures... probably in many other cultures too.

I'll look for shiba's puppies tomorrow, David.. just stumbled across this and thought we could use some xmas puppies up here...

Did you ever read Puppies, Dogs and Blue Northers? If not, put it in the bathroom and you'll have it read in no time

The static sound is coming from the hummingbird cam... easy to turn off the volume..

How are such small dogs able to litter so much!

Ellen, I'm deciding between a car or a dog this holiday season. I think I'm leaning towards the dog after spending time at the farm this weekend with Chico, my parent's dog. Nothing like a best friend.

Think about it this way, David... if you get a dog, you'll probably get a car pretty soon anyway. But if you get the car, you might NEVER get the dog! Go for the dog! It's kind of like getting both, but you don't have to admit it right away :))

I haven't seen the parents of the pups, but I think they might be American Bulldogs, which weigh between 70 - 120 pounds and don't have such an unusually large head. They are not as sweet as the English bulldog, but a healthier, sturdier breed... I think it would kill an English bulldog mom to have so many pups... I think (not sure) the litters usually top out at four, and often they have to be born caesarian... I know, silly breed, but soooooo sweet AND courageous- and ADORE children- will let them do ANYTHING- they have their place in my heart <3

This is a noisy post! I haven't caught sight of the hummingbird yet... always on at night :)

I checked David, and you are right - they are english bulldogs! And she had 10 of them! What a payday for her owners, as they fetch $1200 on up, a pup. Poor mama bulldog!

How are you progressing on finding your best friend? I'm guessing it hasn't happened yet, or we'd have seen pics :))
