Congratulations, Ruth! I played with Tagul a few weeks ago, and was absolutely taken with the possibilities involved with the active links. What lessons/resources could develop! How long it would take to create these thoughtfully! :D ... and then I moved on {oohhh)

It would be really fun to do one with all planned-out links, though, don't you think? Do the active links default to google search? What ideas have you had about using the program? I keep thinking about having a subject like "birds" or "owls", and all the links go to great pages/sites...but I guess that is just a fancy way to make a list of links... what else?

Yes, Ellen I have thought about how to use it. The trick is to work out sending it to a specific site. As it is google search is the default. I need to watch the video so I can see how to set up a specific site. I can see setting it up as semi controlled research. I think maybe having the kids submit key words as part of the research process. Combine this with Q-Matrix question format from Kagan & Wiederhold. I have only just recently started using the Q-matrix with the kids - I really am blown away by the depth of the questions.

Hi Ruth, I got curious about those Q-Matrix questions and headed to your blog. I found a nice PDF handout that helped me understand the technique. The PDF mentions Bloom's Taxonomy, so I thought I'd also post two favorite Bloom Taxonomy posters.

Just click on the image, click again for full size, then right click>save image as...

Prettiest...

My favorite/ most useful/ most practical (also huge full sized, I'll never need glasses)

And a new age one- :D!

And of course, my original intent, the Q-Matrix Question Chart. I appreciate how the activity assumes the students as authors/creators of the questions...

I love your Bloom's Posters. - the words in the bulls eye one might make for an interesting word art- word cloud. I bought the q-dice at Kagan On-line and soon discovered I needed to model the stages and take smaller steps. that sent me looking for dice or spinners that could be customized with the questions and projected onto a whiteboard/screen. And I did find virtual spinners. This is the page I built to project using WebposterWizard http://poster.4teachers.org/worksheet/view.php?id=146747.
