About

The #1........(book on language)

Number One** Not your ordinary endless list - just what's number 1.

Let's not beat around the bush - no question: Thought and Language - Lev Vygotsky

This book is the "Origin of Species" for language. A collosus. It has everything a mind interested in language could imagine. Originality, nuance, suggestion, intelligence, research... ...... Read his bio.

My favorite chapter without a doubt is Chapter 7 - Thought and Word. Read it online HERE. More resources HERE.

I'll end with a few gems from this Slavic soul.....

"A word devoid of thought is a dead thing, and a thought unembodied in words remains a shadow."

"Through others we become ourselves."

The teacher must orient his work not on yesterday's development in the child but on tomorrow's.
