Hi George- did you see this blog by Rosa? Art project powered by google, and I didn't even know about it! Will you put the link on Cristina's page? Time to call that girl back in from recess! ; )

Hi George,

Here are the lyrics for New York Tendaberry- no one could figure them out without a lyrics sheet! But it's never been the lyrics that make the song special to me... it's the sounds. If I am recalling correctly, she wrote the song when she was 17, and recorded it before 20.

New York tendaberry
Blue berry
A rush on rum
Of brush and drum
And the past is a blue note
Inside me
I ran away in the morning

New York tendaberry
Blue berry
Rugs and drapes and drugs
And capes
Sweet kids in hunger slums
Firecrackers break
And they cross
And they dust
And they skate
And the night comes

I ran away in the morning

Now I'm back
Unpacked
Sidewalk and pigeon
You look like a city
But you feel like a religion
To me

New York tendabery
True berry
I lost my eyes
In east wind skies
Here where I've cried
Where I've tried
Where God and the tendaberry rise
Where quakers and revolutionaries
Join for life
For precious years
Joined for life
Through silver tears

New York tendaberry

Thank you for your kind and calming words- it was just such a shock that I could forget my daughter's birthday!

George, you have to come join the party!

Listen from the bottom up (I am such a control freak!)

Hey George, sorry I missed you- I went off to play online scrabble. We don't really celebrate children's day in the US, though there probably is a day called that. As my mother used to say when I was a kid and asked about this discrepancy, every day is children's day!

I have to admit, I did get more toys than she did : )

I'm doing fine, still wishing Cri would find her way back! And you are in the thick of parenting... happy Children's Day, George!

Hey George,

Phoebe, the brave little hummingbird, laid 2 more eggs and they are due to hatch on or about May 10th!

So far, everything is looking good, thought you might enjoy watching. I have all the updates here.

Take care,

Ellen
