This short animation video from Pixar is adorable.  I haven't actually used it in my classes yet, but I plan to next week...so I thought I would share.

Dogs Speaking PPT for Elementary Students

Posted on May 24, 2010 at 3:10am 0 Comments

This is a PPT I made that actually got me a promotion into more R&D work. I deleted some content that was specific to the book and story associated with this lesson and tried to make it more general for anyone's use.

There are plenty of speaking opportunities here that you can stretch out as you like (have students work together in pairs to make sentences on paper and then speak, etc). Anyway, my kids really like the cute pictures and enjoy these kinds of PPTs a lot.

So I've been a member of EFL Classroom 2.0 for a couple years now and have gotten some great material from this website. I've also made some of my own material....sometimes I will get an idea out of the blue, or other times I will see something and change it to suit the level and needs of my students.

Here are a couple of fun pair-work activities that get my students laughing, speaking, and having a good time.…

Loren,

You are quick! That's good and thanks for letting me help some teachers.

I had two teachers in a course I teach online ask me about something simple but most of all "fun" for practicing numbers. Thought of your simple yet effective game.

Was going to look you up after I got through remaking a YLs group (the lady who started it, deleted it and we lost loads of great stuff!). If you would like me to put up your name on it - let me know. Or any other link. I wanted the flash so that some of the non tech teachers wouldn't have a difficulty.

Cheers and thanks for the positive feedback.

Loren, don't you still need the stick to balance on the Segway? Just thinking...

I want one of those with the bouncy foot, I mean, if I have to have one.

I warned you I have played this game for hours!

Hey Loren,

Happy to be friends! What did you do before teaching EFL?

Which would you rather lose... an arm or a leg? For me, I think it would be a leg, because hands are just too important, and I can always get a fancy stick for a leg :D

Hey Loren,

Thanks for sharing some of your resources - I know many times we don't think it makes a difference but I assure you - it does. A great way we learn, from others.

Look forward to hearing more about your teaching and travels. Now got to get me some chow!

Cheers,

David
