Englishonthe.net is now live!

Greetings to all and a very happy new year 2009!

One of my resolutions was to get my website up and running which you can now visit at Englishonthe.net. I intend this site to become a portal for my language services, and I'm also planning for it to be a space for learning about what web 2.0 can do to help us learn and teach languages - especially through the blog. There is also a… Continue

hmm... the only difference that i can come up with is that the first comment was a lot longer. Its a great post covering all aspects of the process of acquiring a new language. Actually what intrigues me more is the fact that i have very recently launched a vocabulary building website www.WordAhead.com based on the very same concepts! This website has a collection of short, simple and fun video clips and an audio narration to correctly pronounce, define, and provide examples of words in context. The videos provide whole brain teaching addressing auditory and visual senses and they are fun to watch! Do visit!

Hi Simon, I have left a comment again at your latest post, do let me know if you get it. Anki is another excellent resource that you have blogged about, commented there too.

Hi Simon, I visited your blog following the link here at efl and i have found it to be very informative, especially your posts about learning a new language and vocabulary building are very detailed. I left two comments there a couple of days ago on your latest post but i still dont see them at your blog, i wonder if they got lost or are they in moderation or something?!? A glitch maybe?

Simon, I think you would enjoy/appreciate this web site from a new member, Claudio Azevedo, Movie Segments to Assess Grammar Goals. We've also got a discussion about it going in the Using Film in the Classroom thread.

Your site is looking great! I'm in the middle of reading your latest post... gives me some hope on learning another language : )

Hello, Simon.
Thank you for adding me as your friend.
Let's make the language world much better.
We can do it if we are together.

Hi Simon!

Just a note to welcome you to EFL and to say I enjoyed your post in Using Film very much. It was insightful and helpful to me as I develop ESL/EFL curriculum (for fun, as the mood strikes :D ). What ages do you teach?

A bientot, Ellen
