Hi William,

Yeah, keep it light and don't talk "down" to the teachers. If possible, teach like a small group, sitting down for the most part. use some icebreakers to start. 3 truths , 1 lie game for example (Write 4 statements about yourself, the teachers guess which is the lie. ) then they do they same and everyone guesses).

See the activities I mention on this thread. Teaching Reflections is a great book and asking them about what they want to learn and doing a needs assessment , even just as a discussion is necessary.

Music works well too - show them some of the Korean karaoke on the kool karaoke page...

got to run but I hope this gives you some food for thought.... it'll be fine and I find teaching teachers to be energizing and fun - just got to get past the first lesson which should be just full of getting to know you stuff.....

Cheers,

David

William,

I remember your name from the list at EPIK! Can't forget a Swiss name.

What I mentioned were the Dolch list but there are other lists. Easiest thing to do is go to this discussion and you should get what you are looking for ....

But this also has EVERYTHING you'll need and can print.

Another option is to google sight boards or dolch words or word frequency. Also check out www.wordcount.org Gives a ranking of any word in terms of frequency....

Hope this helps. I'll copy this to your own page so the links are dynamic.

Cheers,

David
