Carlos,

Thanks for your kind comments. You share the name of one of my all time favourite heroes and runners, Carlos Lopez (but he was Portugese....).

Hi Carlos, hopefully now that I've added you as a pal you should be able to view our videos.

We would love to see your videos...if you start your own Ning you can upload videos there. You can also make your Ning private - it's one of the options when you set up your Ning.

Can't wait to see what your class has produced.

Greg

Greg,
It would be excellent to view your students' videos.
We will be back to the classroom next Monday, Jan 7, 2008. I'm going to tell my students about this interesting exchange and motivate them to produce and upload (or give me their videos and permission to upload them). My students have just started to study English but they are eager to start using the target language. Their level is beginners, I guess false beginners for some of them.
Some students from this beginning level have done simple videos about introducing themselves. I already have their permission to upload them. I thought about uploading them to TeacherTube but I would like to know how to do it here, at Ning. By the way, where can I find information about having a private Ning?
Also, some other students from the last term already gave me their permission to show the world what they have done. These students are from a low advanced level, which corresponds to about 400 hours of instruction.
Well, this is in short what my students are doing and have done.
CU Around ;)

Hi Carlos, thanks for getting in touch. Would love to connect with what your students are doing there. I've invited you as a friend to my page - so you'll be able to view the videos my students have made there or show your students.

We don't start our new year for a couple of weeks but will be starting by making life movies. It would be great to be able to share them with your students as well, and to get feedback...I'm also going to be getting them started on the ning for the first time so it'll be pretty full on but I could invite you/your class in once we've gotten going (as the ning will be a private one) and are blogging etc...It'd be great to get comments from you and your students

And we'd love to see what your students are doing and participate there as well.

Let me know what you think

Greg

Hi Greg,
It is amazing to realize what students can do with technology. I have many good experiences, as well as my students in doing a similar project as yours. Students feel they are other persons when somebody abroad watches what they are doing. This also helps them to grow academically and personally.
Keep on doing the same good work.

By the way, would it be possible to encourage some activities exchange among your students and mine? I mean, they can exchange ideas, opinions, and their work by inviting them to watch their work -already uploaded.
My students speak Spanish as their mother tongue but this MUST be done in English so they can have real opportunities to use the target language. Don't you think so?
Waiting for your answer.
Bye!

Hi Carlos,

Happy New Year and welcome to EFL Classroom 2.0! I hope you'll find a great "home" for learning and teaching. I look forward to your own contribution here. By sharing and learning from one another, all our jobs get easier.

Make sure you introduce yourself in our "introduce yourself" forum! Find others with common interests and Make Pals by inviting members to be your friend! And if you want, show others where you are from on the Frappr map.

When you have a moment, personalize your homepage, click around and see a lot of great videos, presentations, links to resources (games/readers/karaoke) pics and music. Share in the forums and put up or link to your own blog. Check out our great Buzka library of links. You have unlimited photo storage and can make your own albums and slideshows. Even chat to my double, Dave the "bot".

Join a “classroom” that interests you or form your own! Also, Ning offers a multiple login feature so that you can register a class page and all your students/faculty can access through the same pw/id and use the content. You can even start your own classroom here for your students in our groups.

Please take a look at the EFL FAQ link on the main page.

Note our Media Fire unlimited file sharing for sharing / storing materials. ID: eflclassroom@mail.com PW: eflclassroom
You may also download many videos (karaoke/teaching and readers) at vimeo with the same password. Our new video preview player also allows both full screen and downloading. Click the arrow.

Most of all, keep sharing and discussing. By contributing your expertise with the community you make all our jobs easier, better.

Happy teaching,

David
