Thanks my website is way out of date actually. I am not a teacher per se in the traditional sense. I teach and train privately and in small group setting by my forte is in technology. What I stumbled into a year or so ago was the idea of teaching English to those in China and others countries. Over the last year or so I have been mentoring many different Chinese in learning English. In doing so I have refined some unique methods in using the technology via distance learning methods. I have incorporated this into my private efforts to teach Seniors how to use the internet. What I have discovered is that nothing excites my older group of students more than the idea of making friends in other countires who wish to learn.

Ihave a whole range of new ideas and techniques I am using in doing this. I use Skype, Yahoo Messenger and MSN for chat. Skype for voice and Video. Email and direct file transfers to offset the censorship issues. I use Google extensively as well as wikipedia and a variety of online dictionary's.

The most demanding part is when I do real time one on one chatting and coming up with answers on the spot. One of my Chinese friends is a Doctor and Professor at a University we talk almost daily and she has taught me many new techniques.

I have learned much about the culture and people of China. I will use Google Earth to zoom in on their locations as we speak. This give me a sense of their community.
I have a lot to share here. I hope to learn much form your group.
