A fascinating video! From the 6 Billion Others project.

Only the French would do this, merveilleux!

Great exercise in paralinguistics. Also, listening for other languages (can your students guess them?). Keep watching - after a minute - , full English subtitling - amazing statements from around the world!

David, I have problems with some of the videos here (yet I think the fault at my side, my computer), but I have just visited the site and watched one of the portraits - Bruno from Indonesia. Watch it, please! He speaks so simply but the more he is speaking the more one is interested what else he had to say...
And could you please let me know who is speaking on your video? I will look it up then.

This video is a "melange" of many of the speakers. Really powerful after the first few minutes...

I think there is so many people here , each one capable of touching and transforming/informing someone's life. Gold. I'll look up Bruno and comment back. On this video - each time I watch it, I'm enamored by a new person: their voice, their face, their words, their humanity and LIFE. Wow!

George, is the video running choppy? Sometimes when this happens I download the video to my computer, and run it from there. The easiest way to download these videos is to use realplayer. A dowload button appears at the top right of very video you watch, and it usually works.

If you want to re-upload the video somewhere else on the web, the video usually has to be converted to another format (sigh, a pain and time consuming). For that I usually use WM Converter (part of WM Recorder, which can be found on our Software for Education page) and choose .mov, as that file type most often keeps the video file under 100 MB, the max size that most sites will accept...

Keepvid is a good program to use with youtube, and you don't have to go through a conversion process to re-upload, but there are a few new tips people need to be aware of... I've got to do a post on it, with pics : )

Ellen, thank you for help, it works already - but I have to use Google Chrome instead of Mozilla.
Oh, I am spending so much time listening to these people and still I cannot tire of it!
